India, Jan. 19 -- In an Instagram post, actor Anupam Kher wrote that he wanted to reinvent the actor in him, and that's why he signed up for the American medical drama, New Amsterdam. Ask him when he realised he needed to reinvent himself as an actor, and he replies, "As a conscious effort, I would always try to do something different in my career. I like to push myself as it makes me discover my strength and courage. If I am not in an uncomfortable position, I won't be able to gauge what I am capable of doing."He goes on to share, "In the last six to seven years in India, I was given titles such as thespian, legend etc. Yeh upadhiyan bahut khatarnak hai. It meant people were hinting that I should retire. I don't want the world to decide what I should do next. Now, with the English TV series, I feel like a newcomer and tackle new challenges everyday - from speaking English dialogues to learning medical terms to acting in a US prime time drama.
