India, Oct. 10 -- For actor Rupali Ganguly, Karwa Chauth means being pampered by her main men: her husband, businessman Ashwin K Verma, and 12-year-old son, Rudransh. "Ashwin is a fantastic cook, he prepares all my favourite food on Karwa Chauth. I'm pampered to the hilt both by my husband and son. We also enjoy waiting for moon sighting. It's a beautiful ritual right from the sargi, to baya, katha and dressing up in red attire," she tells us. This year, she will wear a red saree gifted by her husband. "I've seen my in-laws celebrating and it's a legacy I want to continue," the actor says, adding, "I've been working on Karwa Chauth for the past five years, but the team lets me go home early... I've been to parties, too, but it's best celebrated at home. And Rudransh holds the thaali, so he's also a part of it!" Back when she first got married, Rupali's (48) father-in-law was fully involved: "He got my sargi - ghee ki mathri, seviyan, etc... This is my second Karwa Chauth without my mother-in-law, but my sisters-in law get on a video call and we wish each other." Rupali who has been shooting long hours for her daily soap says fasting on set is not a big deal. The actor says, "Thousands of women go to office and work while fasting and homemakers manage the household work as well. I feel blessed that I have work. Though it does get a tad difficult, but I don't find the Karwa Chauth fast to be a hindrance. Karwa Chauth is a celebration of your partner and the love you both share. It has also been scientifically proven that fasting is good for health, it's something good I'm doing for my body. I observe the fast happily and proudly. I believe it's a beautiful tradition in every way so I don't expect any special treatment." She adds that she and her husband look forward to the puja, followed by the food. "I also look forward to sargi in the morning though I can't each much but I do it for shagun, some dates, sevaiyan or lapsi."...
