India, March 11 -- The biopic on the legendary late actor Madhubala, most popularly known for playing Anarkali in Mughal-e-Azam (1960), has been in the news for quite some time regarding its casting for the lead role. Reports had emerged lately that actor Kiara Advani will be stepping in the shoes of Madhubala for the film. However, this rumour was debunked by Hindustan Times a few days ago, claiming it to be false. Since then, a new report by Filmfare claimed that actor Aneet Padda, who became an overnight sensation with the success of Saiyaara last year, has apparently been signed for the film and will soon begin filming. But when we reached out to Aneet's team for an update, they denied the news and called them untrue. Interestingly, this is the second film where Aneet's name has come up as a replacement for Kiara. Earlier, Kiara was rumoured to be headlining the female-centric horror comedy Shakti Shalini. But the makers made an official announcement during the release of Thamma (2025) that Aneet will be leading the film. The Madhubala biopic is now the second film where Aneet has been rumoured to be replacing Kiara. Meanwhile, the biopic is being directed by Darlings (2022) fame Jasmeet K. Reen, and reportedly, it also has filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali onboard as a producer.htc...
