India, Oct. 24 -- Known for crafting tales of mystery and suspense, writer-creator Harlan Coben has built a reputation as a successful storyteller in the thriller genre. Over the years, many of his novels, including Tell No One, No Second Chance, and Just One Look, have been adapted into television series. With his latest project Lazarus, which he created for TV, Harlen reflects on shifting between page and screen, and why he keeps his approach to novel writing and TV writing distinctly separate. "When I'm writing a novel, I make sure that I'm not thinking about adapting it because that is the kiss of death. If you're a novelist and you want to write thinking, 'This would make a great TV series,' that's the kiss of death. When I was writing Lazarus, I did not think this would make a great book. I was just concerned about how good it was going to be on screen. And when I'm writing novels, I'm just thinking about how good it's going to be on the page," the 63-year-old says. With Lazarus currently streaming on Prime Video in India, Harlen admits his fascination with the country and even reveals future plans. "I have a great affection for India because it has so much diversity. I can't say anything yet, but I'm working with a team to set one of my books or TV series here. I hope that happens very soon," he shares. Continuing to speak about his love for India, Harlen adds, "I've been to the country, and it's fascinating - the history there, the stories. You guys tell the best stories. It's truly an incredibly rich tradition of storytelling. That's why I want to be a part of it. I want to team up with some of your best and create something where we can combine our talents. That would be a dream."...
