India, Feb. 10 -- Filmmaker Rohit Shetty has issued a strong clarification dismissing reports that the upcoming Golmaal 5 is inspired by the cult comedy Do Aur Do Paanch (1980). Speculation around the fifth instalment of the popular franchise began circulating after a report by Bollywood Hungama suggested that Shetty was planning to re-envision Do Aur Do Paanch within the Golmaal format. However, Rohit Shetty Picturez, the director's production house, has now strongly denied these claims. In an official statement, the they called the reports "factually incorrect, misleading, and completely untrue." Furthermore, the production house requested media portals to refrain from publishing unverified information, warning of legal action. "Any news, update, or clarification pertaining to Rohit Shetty or Golmaal 5 must be verified with us, or the official PR representatives, or strict legal action will be taken," the statement read, adding, "We also request that incorrect reports currently in circulation be corrected or taken down at the earliest."
