India, June 11 -- An apology posted by noted fashion designer Rohit Bal on Monday put the spotlight back on a simmering debate that had been raging on in the fashion fraternity in the past few days. Some of the comments in the debate, which started with plagiarism accusations, were inappropriate. It ended up with Bal tweeting "didn't mean to offend any women".

It all started with a piece calling out Delhi-based designer Samant Chauhan for allegedly copying the designs of Rohit Bal, a veteran in the industry. Case in point: a tiered dress.
