India, Jan. 22 -- Since its debut, Bridgerton has cemented its place in global pop culture. With season 4, Yerin Ha enters the world as a leading lady opposite actor Luke Thompson. Joining a cast established since season 1, she sees the role as an opportunity to start with a clean slate with audiences. "It was nice to know my story would be quite different from the other three leading ladies, and I felt privileged to tell it, but I was also super nervous. I was excited, but I definitely felt a lot of pressure bringing this character and story to life," she says. Looking beyond the show's global success, she adds, "I never saw it as a global phenomenon, but as an opportunity that I hope will open more doors and lead to more opportunities". Being Australian of South Korean descent, Yerin says it can be difficult for people like her to find a place in mainstream show business in the West. "For people who look like me, imposter syndrome is real. Sometimes it feels like this could be your last job. I also think it's bigger than me. I hope the show proves that more people can be represented and more stories like this can be told," she says. The actor praises the Netflix series for its commitment to inclusivity. "It's incredibly important, and Bridgerton has embraced it from day one, that's what intrigued me about the show. It reflects the world as it is today, a melting pot of cultures. What's lovely about our love story is that Benedict sees Sophie for who she is on the inside. We need more of that, judging people by who they are, not by how they look. It's a beautiful story to tell, on and off screen," she says....
