India, July 26 -- In a bid to promote India's heritage textile khadi, the Fashion Design Council of India (FDCI) joined hands with Khadi India for a workshop at Taj Palace, New Delhi. Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) chairman Manoj Kumar attended as chief guest, supporting the push to make the textile appeal to younger generations. The event featured an interactive workshop where over 100 students from top design institutes like NIFT, Pearl Academy, FDDI, AAFT, and YMCA learnt charkha spinning, followed by a fashion show. This hands-on session celebrated khadi's legacy while highlighting its modern design potential. Sharing insight on khadi's significance, FDCI chairman Sunil Sethi said, "Khadi represents the soul of India. Through this platform, we aim to engage young designers with the fabric's rich history and help them envision its place in the global fashion narrative."...
