India, July 7 -- A new aesthetic is now taking over celeb wardrobes. Say hello to lazy luxury, which isn't about flexing logos or dressing to impress.
This is a style that lets you breathe and that screams "taste" without saying a word. Think plain tees, loose trousers and leather sandals, or a long coat over a suit. Prada led the conversation at the recent Milan Fashion Week with smocked tops and sun-faded trousers, and Dolce and Gabbana followed with silk pyjama sets. Over at Paris Fashion Week, Dior styled sheer shirts over wide-leg pants for a lived-in look.
No loud logos, no stiff collars, just polish woven into the fabric. "Look for elevated basics that feel luxurious," says designer Shruti Sancheti, adding, "You want to look effortless, not careless." Designer Supria Munjal adds, "It's about investing in pieces that move with you and age well."
To add lazy luxury to your wardrobe, start with pieces that feel good on the skin but hold their shape. Go for breathable fabrics - Supria suggests soft cottons, handwoven linens, mulmul and washed silk. Stick to a soft, neutral palette, avoiding loud prints or colours. Relaxed tailoring, unfussy silhouettes and layering add a finishing touch....
