Delhi HC concludes hearings in Sunjay Kapur estate case, reserves order on Karisma Kapoor's kids' plea
India, Dec. 25 -- The Delhi High Court on Wednesday concluded hearings in the civil suit related to the personal estate of late industrialist Sunjay Kapur and reserved its order on an interim injunction sought by his children from his earlier marriage with actor Karisma Kapoor.
Through the interim application, the children - Samaira (20) and Kiaan (15) - have requested protective measures to ensure that no steps are taken that could affect or alter the disputed estate while the case is still pending before the court.
The court noted that all parties had filed their written submissions in line with its earlier directions, thereby completing arguments on the interim plea. It also made it clear that no further submissions will be accepted before the order is pronounced. However, the court did not specify a date for its decision.
The outcome of the interim application is expected to influence how the estate is managed and controlled until the matter is finally decided.
Sunjay Kapur passed away on June 12 at the age of 53 after collapsing during a polo match in the UK. Soon after his death, differences emerged within the family over the distribution and control of his personal assets, leading to the present legal battle before the Delhi High Court.
The dispute centres on a will that is said to have been executed shortly before Sunjay's death. According to claims made before the court, the will leaves the bulk of his personal estate to his widow.
