India, Nov. 18 -- Singer Amaal Mallik, now on a reality show has been making shocking claims about his family and personal life, recently calling his father Daboo Malik 'a failure'. He described himself as a product of "reverse nepotism" and criticised his father as he said, "Mere papa ko kabhi (singer) Anu Malik ka support mila he nahi, hum reverse nepotism ke product hain sir. He was a failure and I have no problem in admitting it. My father failed." While this isn't the first time the singer has made such claims, his temperament, has been a constant topic of discussion. After a heated exchange with Farhana Bhatt that included derogatory remarks which sparked criticism on social media even being accused of being short-tempered. Veteran composer Daboo, reacted to the allegations of Amaal's short temper, taking responsibility for his son's outbursts. "Where did Amaal get his short-tempered trait? From me. If his music has come from me, he must have imbibed other things as well. There must be some issues with me as well. Before I try to correct him, I should look within and reflect on my own journey," he told News 18. Reflecting on his parenting, Daboo added: "I should think about how I behaved in front of him while he was growing up. Was I mature enough to raise a child and provide the right guidance and direction to him? Was I a father who minded his P's and Q's? No, I had many faults. I was temperamental too.
