Cricket world hails Indian Women's Blind Cricket Team after World Cup triumph
India, Nov. 25 -- India's Women's Blind Cricket Team created history on Sunday, November 23, lifting the first-ever T20 Blind Women's World Cup after a clinical seven-wicket win over Nepal in the final at Colombo's P Sara Oval cricket ground. Featuring six teams, the inaugural tournament marked a landmark moment in the sport.
Having won the toss, the Indian bowlers set the tone early, restricting Nepal's score to 114/5 in 20 overs. The chase that followed was equally emphatic: India wrapped up the match within 12 overs, losing only three wickets along the way.
The title capped off a flawless campaign for India, who remained unbeaten throughout the tournament. Their semi-final match, too, saw a commanding nine-wicket victory against Australia.
After the win, skipper Deepika TC recreated Harmanpreet Kaur's now-iconic celebration from the triumph of the Women's World Cup earlier this month. The achievement was met with tremendous applause, with legendary cricketers and fans taking to social media to celebrate the moment.htc...
