ll of us aspire to maintain a healthy lifestyle with a nutrient-rich diet and a regular workout routine - and a good glute workout plays a key role in that. Actor Shilpa Shetty Kundra is highlighting the importance of focused glute training in a new Instagram video captioned, "Glutes on fire."
She explained that strengthening the glute muscles helps increase hip flexion range and boosts hypertrophy stimulus - the muscle growth response triggered by repeated resistance exercise. Training in a slightly raised body position, she added, shifts the load to the posterior chain while reducing strain on the lower back.
Using a resistance band further creates lateral tension, enhancing upper-glute activation. A consistent glute routine, Shilpa said, supports hip external-rotation stability, improves knee alignment and builds better pelvic control - leading to safer and more efficient movement.
For those keen to try the routine, she recommended three sets of 20 repetitions, with 20 band-abduction pulses on the final rep of each set, repeating this sequence across all three rounds.
