India, Jan. 11 -- Actor Bhumi Satish Pednekkar has addressed growing assumptions around celebrities weight loss and the use of injectables, saying she finds it frustrating that people now believe losing weight is impossible without medical intervention. Speaking to actor Soha Ali Khan on her podcast recently, Bhumi recalled being repeatedly asked whether she had used weight-loss injections, including Ozempic. "People have even asked me if I've had a rib removed," she said, adding that years of consistent workouts and mindful eating often get overlooked. Bhumi explained that a significant phase of her weight loss coincided with a difficult health episode. "For another character, I lost a lot of weight while recovering from dengue. I lost about 12 kg and half my hair. The pain you go through is unmatched," she said, recalling being hospitalised during Diwali in November 2023. She noted that the timing of her role aligned with this period, which led to visible changes in her body. She also clarified that she does not judge those who use medical assistance for weight loss. "I know people who genuinely needed that help, so I will never judge anyone for it," she said, before adding, "But the fact is, I lost nearly 40 kg over time without injectables." Weight-loss drugs such as Ozempic and Mounjaro are prescription medicines intended for adults with type 2 diabetes and are meant to be used only under medical supervision due to potential side effects. htc...
