India, Oct. 6 -- In 2021, actor Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan made headlines after he was arrested in connection with a drugs case. Now, former Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) zonal director Sameer Wankhede has refuted the notion that Aryan was made a scapegoat in the Cordelia Cruise raid. During a recent interview, Wankhede, who arrested Aryan back in 2021 maintained that everything was done "by the book" and stressed that individuals can be taken into custody on drug-related charges even if they themselves are not in possession of any substances. "People have this misconception that if no drugs were found on you, there won't be any action," said Wankhede, who returned to the media spotlight this year after he claimed that Aryan's directoral debut, The Ba****ds of Bollywood, featured a mocking caricature of him. He went on to explain, "If someone has been caught with drugs, then someone must have manufactured them, someone must have supplied them, and there must be someone who is intending to buy them. Do you think that we should not arrest those who manufacture or those who intend to buy them because both of them will not be in possession of drugs? The law entails that the entire chain should be arrested." When asked if Aryan was made a "bali ka bakra", he replied, "Ismein (referring to drug cases) bali ka bakra koi banta nahin hai. After a lot of thought, there is a conscious possession, there is some electronic evidence, and there is some statement, so on the basis of that, the investigation is done. It's not just Wankhede who is doing it all; there are a lot of procedures." Despite his elaborate answers, the officer refrained from naming Aryan. During the conversation he also revealed that he had submitted an affidavit to the Bombay High Court which states that he will not speak about the Cordelia drug bust case to the media. Responding to allegations that he leaked private conversations with SRK to the media during the case proceedings in 2021, Wankhede clarified, "Leaking would be the wrong word here. It's neither my habit, nor am I so weak as to do such things. I don't need to do such things." He also rubbished the accusations that he took a Rs.25-crore bribe during the same period, saying, "You all saw the chats; I don't want to repeat what was in them. I made arrests and didn't leave anyone. I will say that and nothing else."htc...
