India, Jan. 5 -- Nearly 25 years after its release, Anil Kapoor has bought the rights to his 2001 political drama Nayak, hinting at a possible sequel as per Bollywood Hungama reports. Originally produced by AS Rathnam, the rights to Nayak were later held by producer Deepak Mukut. As per the report, "Anil Kapoor has bought the rights to Nayak from producer Deepak Mukut. It's a film close to his heart, and he aspires to make a sequel." The report added, "He knows the love the film has garnered and believes Nayak has great potential for a second part." There's been no official confirmation of Nayak 2 yet. Directed by Shankar, Nayak, was a story about a common man becoming the Chief Minister of Maharashtra for a day. It also featured Rani Mukerji, Amrish Puri, Paresh Rawal, Saurabh Shukla, Johny Lever, Shivaji Satam and Neena Kulkarni. The film is a remake of Shankar's 1999 Tamil-language film Mudhalvan. HTC...
