All about the Dry January Reset

fter a long month of holiday parties and heavy toasts, Dry January feels like the ultimate reset button for your body and your bank account. Unlike the older narratives about "quitting" or "cleansing," this version is not about guilt. It is simply a pause after a December full of late nights, back-to-back plans and sugar-laced cocktails.
Dry January began in the UK in 2013 as a public health campaign and has slowly turned into cultural currency. Every year, more young adults choose to go alcohol-free through the first month of the year, often starting right after New Year's Eve. For many, it feels like a fresh start for both the body and the mind.
According to Dr Prateek, Consultant in Medicine and Critical Care Management at Maccure Hospital, success comes from intention and planning. "Set clear personal goals, inform friends or family for support, and identify triggers for drinking. These can make the process easier."
He adds that making small lifestyle changes can help too. "You can replace alcohol with nutritious drinks, stay physically active and follow a balanced diet, which helps prevent fatigue or cravings. Managing stress through yoga, meditation or hobbies is also beneficial."...
