'My Diwali spread is filled with Gujarati food and a big scoop of ice cream'
India, Oct. 20 -- Singer Dhvani Bhanushali is ready to celebrate Diwali and Gujarati New Year the traditional way; complete with rituals, family time, and lots of food.
"This year, we have pujas in our office and home. We will visit a few family and friends' houses to meet up,like every year. Decor at my home is majorly traditional with lights, diyas and kandeels. Keeping Gujarati traditions alive, we celebrate Padwa (Varsha Pratipada) which is New Years' in a bigger way. So I will just be spending time with family," says the 27-year-old.
While Dhvani will not be stepping into the kitchen, she's definitely not holding back when it comes to enjoying food. "No dieting during this time! I gorge on festive specialities, sweets and home cooked food till I can't eat anymore. The spread is filled with Gujarati food and a big scoop of ice cream."
And of course, no Diwali party is complete without music. For Dhvani, it's all about Bollywood beats. "Anything that is hardcore Bollywood is on my dance playlist," she says. On the style front, Dhvani prefers to keep things easy: "I love the Indian handloom kurtas or suits. I'm planning to attempt a nice traditional sari this time."...
