Mumbai, April 21 -- Being born to Sachin Pilgaonkar and Supriya Pilgaonkar, extremely popular names in the Marathi film-industry, Shriya Pilgaonkar had an extra edge before she made her debut in Bollywood with Fan (2016). But the actor insists that acting wasn't something she jumped headlong into just because her parents were already established actors. "A lot of people think I was a child artiste because I made short appearances on my dad's show, Tu Tu Main Main. Growing up I was completely into sports and was a competitive swimmer so all my time and energy went into that. However, I have always loved films. My father would tell me a lot of stories very often and I was always coming up with interesting ideas. But acting was something that I genuinely never had in my mind. Perhaps, if anything, I didn't want to be predictable and wanted to do something different, which is why I stayed away from acting, although not consciously. It was only when I started making short films, did I end up doing theatre and after that, I realised that this is something that I truly enjoy. I didn't have a eureka moment where I realised I wanted to be an actor. I explored the idea; I took my time so I never took acting for granted," says the 29-year-old....
