India, Oct. 20 -- Being a Gujarati, the festive season isn't just about Diwali but also about new beginnings for Vishal Jethwa, as Gujaratis celebrate the New Year, right after the festival of lights. Revelling in the love for his recent release Homebound, the actor shares that the Gujarati New Year, which falls on October 22 this year, brings with it a strong sense of hope. "This year's Diwali and New Year have brought a lot of growth for me. It's been quite an important year. Many things have changed since last year, including my career graph and who I am as a person. My confidence has also improved a lot. I'll carry all this confidence into the next year," he says. Recalling his childhood excitement for the festivities, the 31-year-old shares, "I don't think anything today can match how excited I was for festivals as a kid. I loved bursting crackers and would even save some for New Year's morning!" The season was also about fashion for him, including one time when actor Hrithik Roshan served as his inspiration. "I used to love buying new clothes. During my childhood, (actor) Hrithik Roshan's clothes from Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai (2000) became popular, so I insisted on buying those. We used to roam around thinking that we were Hrithik Roshan," he laughs. As the New Year begins, Vishal has a heartfelt wish: "I want to get the lead role in (filmmaker) Sanjay Leela Bhansali sir's film. If that happens, this new year is going to be something else."...
