India, March 2 -- S hanaya Kapoor's recent casting choices have sparked conversation. After making her debut in Aankhon Ki Gustakhiyan opposite Vikrant Massey, where their age gap drew attention, the actor is now seen in Tu Yaa Main Gourav, with their height difference becoming the latest talking point. Both pairings veer away from conventional Bollywood norms, and Shanaya believes that her generation is increasingly comfortable challenging such pre-conceived ideas. "It's not about proving anyone wrong," she says, adding, "For me, acting is about taking risks... that's what excites me. If I read something and feel like I've already done this before, I don't know how thrilling that would be. I want to look at a scene and wonder, 'Am I going to pull this off? How do I find the truth in it?' That's where you hope to create magic, when you try something new instead of repeating yourself." While risk-taking does not always translate into box-office success, Shanaya says the recent theatrical momentum has renewed optimism. She points to films like Dhurandhar (2025) and Border 2 as signs that audiences are returning to cinemas. "It's an exciting time for actors and creators. The audience had stopped coming to theatres for a while, but now people are back, even going in groups for international films like Marty Supreme. That shared experience is something I missed as an audience member. As an actor, it's even more motivating," she adds....
