India, Nov. 19 -- Taha Shah Badussha turns a year older today, and he insists this birthday feels different from his previous ones. "This year, it's not just about career but also about self growth, self-awareness, working on my inner self and becoming a bit more connected to the universe," the actor shares, adding that he will be spending the day with his family. "It's all about keeping the right people next to you instead of more people," the 37-year-old says. Interestingly, Taha's birthday coincides with International Men's Day, prompting him to reflect on the evolution of men over the years. "There used to be many hard-core men earlier, especially for at least 30 years after the Partition, as their experiences shaped them to be that way. Then, after the 2000s, young boys emerged, crossing over to become men. But in this generation, everyone is quite open. There's gender fluidity now, and the understanding of what a man should be has changed over time. For me, a man is someone who has integrity, and is patient, calm, and devoted," he shares. Contrary to the earlier idea that men should always be strong and stoic, Taha believes vulnerability is now accepted and appreciated. "I don't think a man should be separated from his vulnerable side. Today, you have to be both strong and vulnerable to survive," he says. Even on screen, he feels the audience seeks relatable men who are in touch with their softer side, like his character in Heeramandi, and not the stereotypical 'alpha' male. "I feel the audience is looking for something romantic because there's been a lot of intensity and violence in recent content. With how Heeramandi or Saiyaara succeeded, it showed that people want romance, because love has become rare," he ends....
