Sri Lanka, Nov. 29 -- An elephant has been electrocuted in the Karapinchalanda Yaya Mile area in the Thanamalwila Hambegamuwa police area.

The wild elephant has died due to a collision with an unauthorized power line.

The person who installed the power cord has been identified, and it is reported that he is to be arrested.

The postmortem examination of the body of the wild elephant is to be conducted today (29) and the Hambegamuwa Police and the Hambegamuwa Wildlife Officers are conducting further investigations into the incident.
