Sri Lanka, Nov. 30 -- Department of Meteorology states that the low pressure area in the south-east Bay of Bengal is likely to intensify into a depression during next 24 hours and likely to intensify further. This system is likely to move nearly west-northwestwards to the north coast of Sri Lanka.

It will affect weather over the island and surrounding sea areas during next few days.

Showers or thundershowers will occur at several places in Northern, North-Central, Eastern and Uva provinces.
