Sri Lanka, May 14 -- The Manning Market traders are facing a severe crisis due to the lack of wholesale buyers for their vegetables due to the travel restrictions imposed by the relevant authorities.

Manning General Trade Union President Lal Hettige stated that farmers and traders were present at the market since early, however, there had been a lack of buyers for the produce.

The Government stated that despite the islandwide travel restrictions imposed, dedicated economic centres, Manning Market, and the Peliyagoda Fish Market were open for wholesale trade.

The traders at the Dambulla Economic Centre stated that nearly 400,000 to 500,000 kilograms of vegetables have been brought by farmers all over the world. However, no buyers had ar...
