Sri Lanka, March 21 -- The Navy has apprehended two persons with 912 kilograms and 960 grams of Beedi Leaves in their custody in the Talaimannar sea area.

The Media Unit of the Navy said that these Beedi Leaves were contained in 27 sacks and had been brought to this country.

The Navy suspect that these would have been brought to Sri Lanka from India.

The two suspects are residents of Mannar and Pesalai and they are due to be handed over to the Jaffna Customs office for further investigation.
