Sri Lanka, April 26 -- Several senior police officers have been transferred, taking into account the threats posed on national security and the plausible risk, and uncertainty of the country following the terrorist attacks.

The national police commission had arrived at the decision yesterday and accordingly 13 police officers had been transferred.

The DIG of the Colombo division L.S Pathinayake has been transferred as the DIG of the supplies division, while DIG L.A.S Priyantha Weerasuriya has been transferred as the DIG of the Colombo division.

In addition, the Police commission has decided to transfer DIG, T.M.W.D. Deshabandu who was in charge of the Western province north division to the Puttlam division.
