Sri Lanka, April 23 -- Following the tragic accident at the Fox Hill Supercross race in Diyatalawa, the police have commenced an investigation into the organizers of the event. According to Police Media Spokesperson DIG Nihal Talduwa, statements from the organizers are being recorded as part of the ongoing investigation.

In light of the incident, Shane Gunawardena, the champion of the inaugural Foxhill tournament in 1993, shared insights with Hiru News, attributing the accident to the dust on the track that wasn't adequately dampened. However, Ashar Amin, President of Sri Lanka Automobile Sport, the organizing body of the tournament, cited spectator negligence as the cause of the accident.
