Sri Lanka, Oct. 31 -- Investigations in search of a police sergeant who ran with a firearm to murder 9 people.

A sergeant attached to the Kuruvita police in Ratnapura has run away with a firearm.

The sergeant has visited several relatives in Kurunegala and said that he intends to murder 9 individuals including the OIC of the Kuruvita police station.

However a spokesperson for the kuruvita police said that all police stations have been informed in this regard and a special operation is underway to arrest the suspect.
