Sri Lanka, Oct. 27 -- The Medical Laboratory Professionals Association warned today that trade union action will be taken within the next two weeks if no action is taken to provide a suitable Deputy Director of Health Services for the laboratory service.

The President of the Association Ravi Kumudesh stated that there were obstacles in conducting PCR tests and laboratory services and if random tests had been performed correctly, patients at the Brandix garment factory could have been identified earlier.

He said this at a media briefing held in Colombo today.
