Sri Lanka, March 5 -- In a concerted effort, the Government of Sri Lanka, has successfully rescued eight Sri Lankan nationals out of the 56 individuals trapped in cybercrime centres in the Myawaddy area of Myanmar. Presently, these rescued citizens are under the care of Myanmar government authorities at the Myawaddy Central Police Station, with plans underway for their swift repatriation to Sri Lanka.

The Sri Lankan Embassy in Myanmar has been actively engaged in facilitating the repatriation process for the rescued individuals.
