Sri Lanka, Oct. 15 -- The Attorney General has summoned the Deputy Inspector General of Police (DIG) in charge of the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) to his office this afternoon to inquire into the failure to arrest MP Rishad Bathiudeen thus far.

MP Rishad Bathiudeen has filed a writ petition in the Court of Appeal seeking to prevent his arrest.

Two days have passed since the Attorney General ordered the arrest of MP Bathiudeen, however, the police have not been able to arrest him so far.

Police Media Spokesman DIG Ajith Rohana stated that six teams from the CID have commenced investigations to arrest the Parliamentarian.
