Sri Lanka, Feb. 13 -- Following extensive consultations with industry professionals and stakeholders, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved several amendments to the Online Safety Act. The decision came after a proposal was tabled by the Public Security Minister during the Cabinet meeting held on Monday, February 12.

The amendments aim to address concerns raised by various parties regarding the legislation, which seeks to regulate online content. The Legal Draftsman will now be directed to prepare a draft Bill outlining the proposed amendments.
