Sri Lanka, Jan. 18 -- The case filed by the Prisons Tribunal against the inmates responsible for the Mahara Prison incident was taken up in the Gampaha District Court today.

The case has been filed against 120 inmates for vandalizing public property, rioting, attempting to flee and violence.

The case was taken up before Gampaha District Judge Ravindra Ranjan Bandara and the detainees gave evidence via Skype technology.

Meanwhile, a silent protest was organized in front of the Gampaha District Court today with the participation of a group of relatives of the inmates.
