Sri Lanka, Jan. 31 -- The Government Medical Officers' Association has urged non-medical staff in the health sector not to let a few trade union leaders with narrow political agendas undermine, their work ethic and pride.

This comes in response to the National Movement of Health Professionals' statement that they will resume strike action if health workers are excluded from policy decisions.

The Government Medical Officers' Association has sent an open memorandum to non-medical staff in government health institutions, emphasizing the need for unity. Copies have been forwarded to Health Minister Ramesh Pathirana and Health Secretary.
