India, March 15 -- West Bengal chief minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday was admitted to a hospital after suffering a fall at her home in Kolkata, the Trinamool Congress (TMC) said. "Our chairperson @MamataOfficial sustained a major injury. Please keep her in your prayers," the party said on X, attaching pictures of Banerjee lying on what appeared to be a hospital bed and bleeding from a wound on her forehead. The 69-year-old had a fall in her Kalighat home, her family said. "She fell somewhere inside the home and was immediately shifted to the hospital. She was bleeding from the forehead and stitches were required," her brother Kartik Banerjee told a local news channel. She was admitted to the Woodburn Ward of the state-run SSKM Hospital in Kolkata and discharged around 9.30 pm after treatment and some tests. Her condition was stable.
