Two arrested in up for allegedly spying for pak
LUCKNOW, March 20 -- The Uttar Pradesh Police has arrested two people from Hapur district for allegedly spying for Pakistan, officers aware of the matter said on Thursday, adding that the two were allegedly sharing "sensitive information through social media platforms".
The accused, identified as Azeem Rana, a resident of Dhaulana in Hapur, and Azad Rajput of Jai village in Meerut, were taken into custody on Wednesday following a joint operation with the intelligence bureau, the officers said.
According to police, the accused were in contact with Pakistan-based gangster Shahzad Bhatti and were passing on photos, videos, and location details of sensitive sites.
