New Delhi, April 29 -- Friends, family and colleagues gathered at the Press Club of India on Tuesday to remember journalists Mark Tully and Raghu Rai, both long-time members who died this year. Veteran journalist Saeed Naqvi recalled sneaking into the Maharishi's ashram in 1968 with a young Rai to photograph The Beatles. Speakers said Rai's images carried emotion and depth, while Tully's reporting stood out for its calm, clarity and trust. Rai's daughter Purvai remembered his instinct to capture moments and his belief in the spiritual nature of art. The evening blended personal anecdotes with professional tributes to two towering figures in journalism.
