SC declines to intervene in Adani-JAL NCLAT order
new delhi, April 7 -- The Supreme Court on Monday declined to interfere with a National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT) order on the implementation of Adani Enterprises Ltd's resolution plan for Jaiprakash Associates Ltd (JAL), while nudging the appellate body to take up Vedanta Ltd's appeal on April 10 or the next working day.
A bench comprising Chief Justice of India Surya Kant and Justice Joymalya Bagchi made it clear at the outset that it was disinclined to step in against what was, in essence, an interim order of the NCLAT. The court noted that the appellate tribunal had already listed Vedanta's appeal for April 10.
