India, June 18 -- Cracks within the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Karnataka unit appeared to have widened on Thursday after several leaders took turns to voice their opinions for and against chief minister B S Yediyurappa, adding to the growing factionalism within the saffron outfit.

BJP legislators took turns to meet party's national general secretary and state in-charge, Arun Singh, who is in Bengaluru to gauge the extent of the unrest within the party. Singh's meetings were meant to iron out the differences among the feuding leaders. Instead, they only added to the already volatile political situation in the state as after the chat, the leaders started taking potshots at one another openly.
