India, Jan. 4 -- Microblogging website Twitter has informed the Delhi high court that the parents of the minor Dalit girl, who was allegedly gang-raped and murdered in Delhi cantonment last year, had consented to sharing their photographs on Twitter by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The photo was, however, removed in accordance with the existing laws of the country, the company added. In its response to the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) on August 13, 2021, Twitter said that it received confirmation that the minor's parents approved the sharing of the image on Twitter. It added that Gandhi had also filed an official appeal against the suspension of his account. The NCPCR in August last asked Twitter to take action against Gandhi's tweet after an affidavit was filed in response to a plea by a social worker seeking action against Gandhi for posting the pictures.htc...
