New Delhi/Bhubaneswar, May 3 -- The Election Commission on Thursday ordered the immediate transfer of senior Odisha bureaucrat Sujata R Kartikeyan, who is the wife of BJD leader VK Pandian, to a non-public dealing department after complaints of misuse of public office, poll panel's officials said on the condition of anonymity.
EC's decision came after the BJP lodged a complaint, accusing Kartikeyan of "indulging as an agent of the BJD because of the influence of her husband". The poll panel did not comment if Kartikeyan was transferred on the BJP's complaint.
