New Delhi/Chennai, May 6 -- Tamil Nadu governor Rajendra Arlekar said on Tuesday that actor-turned-politician Vijay had sought time to claim power even as parties rushed to offer support to his Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK). Congress leader KC Venugopal said Vijay asked for the party's support. The state unit, which had to make the call, decided to back Vijay, people familiar with the matter said.
