Islamabad, July 11 -- An accountability court has summoned Maryam Nawaz, daughter of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif over the use of a bogus trust deed in order to conceal her London properties, after the National Accountability Bureau moved an application before accountability judge Mohammad Bashir.
This came after a delay of over a year after the conviction of Maryam in the Avenfield properties reference. On July 6, 2018, both Nawaz Sharif and his daughter were convicted and sentenced to 10 years and 7 years in jail respectivelyin theAvenfieldproperties case. In September 2018, she was released after the Islamabad High Court suspended the sentence.
