New Delhi, April 2 -- The Delhi Electricity Regulatory Commission (DERC) has simplified and sped up the process of issuing new electricity connections in the national capital, by doing away with pre-connection site inspections, according to a public notice issued by the Commission. As per the notice, issued on April 1, the regulator also stated the removal of upfront payment at the time of application. "No Upfront Payment for new connection. No payment is required by you at the time of application for new connection to the DISCOMS. Only Self-Declaration about the testing of internal wiring by the electrical contractor.
