Mumbai University engineering exam: '30% of paper was not from curriculum'

India, May 18 -- As many as 30% questions in a recent Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology (BE IT) paper of the University of Mumbai (MU) were out- of- syllabus, students have complained.
In a letter to MU vice-chancellor (V-C) Suhas Pednekar, Pradeep Sawant and Rajan Kolambekar, council members from Yuva Sena, alleged that several questions in 'Storage Network Management and Retrieval' paper, held on Tuesday, either did not belong to the curriculum or were from the old syllabus. A member of the university's board of studies in IT Engineering said that some students have also filed complaints. The students have said that as many as 30% of the questions were out-of-syllabus, an official said.
