BHOPAL/SATNA, July 29 -- An 11-year-old girl was gang-raped allegedly by two men in the temple town of Maihar in Satna district in Madhya Pradesh on Friday, the police said, adding that the accused have been arrested.

The survivor is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital in Rewa district and her condition is said to be critical, an official familiar with the matter said.

"Police have arrested Ravi Chaudhary and Atul Bhadholiya, an employee of the gaushala of Maihar Temple Management Committee, under Section 376(d) (gang rape) and sections of Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act," Maihar sub-divisional officer of police, Lokesh Davar, said.
