Raipur, April 12 -- Police arrested a 35-year-old man on Saturday for kidnapping and raping a five-year-old girl and then leaving her in a sack near a well in Chhattisgarh's Durg district, police said, adding that the victim is now stable. Police said the incident took place on Friday afternoon, when the girl went to a nearby shop to buy chocolates after returning from school. The accused, who was present at the shop, lured the child to his house on the pretext of giving her chocolates.
