Mahaveer Singhvi now India's new consul general in Toronto
New Delhi, April 4 -- Senior diplomat Mahaveer Singhvi has taken charge as India's new consul general in the Canadian city of Toronto at a time when India and Canada are focused on rebuilding their relations and strengthening cooperation in areas such as trade, investment and critical minerals.
Singhvi joined the Indian Foreign Service (IFS) in 1999 and served as an additional secretary in the external affairs ministry in New Delhi before taking up his first foreign assignment. He has handled several important subjects such as counter-terrorism and technology while serving at the headquarters.
