industrialist Pawan Ruia held in multi-crore cyber fraud case
New Delhi, April 1 -- Industrialist Pawan Ruia was arrested on Tuesday in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged cyber fraud, the West Bengal police said.
A statement issued by the police department said Ruia was arrested in connection with a 2024 case registered "under Sections 419/420/406/120B of the Indian Penal Code and adding Sections 467 and 471."
On December 31, 2025, the Calcutta High Court had granted anticipatory bail to Ruia, his son Raghav and daughter Pallavi in this case, in which police are probing the alleged use of online apps to divert investor deposits.
